Latest on The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Pt.2

In this series, we explore the movie reviews and film summaries of actress, Amelie Bea Smith. This week we had a chance to watch Mockingjay Pt. 2! We loved seeing Katniss’s choice to take on the Capitol once and for all in her journey towards finally saving her country from the cruelty inflicted by President Snow. In conclusion, the film had everything that you would expect from a satisfying conclusion to the trilogy with just enough action and intrigue- its perfect for any Hunger Games fan.
There are so many memorable moments throughout this final installment of the franchise; I’ll never forget when Peeta asks Katniss if he can hold their baby while they’re filming the Victory Tour. The camera work and imagery was breathtaking during these sequences as well, it was truly a spectacle to behold. That being said, even though it may not be my favorite of the three films (that goes to Catching Fire), I highly recommend watching Mockingjay pt.2!

Latest on Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens

After a 30-year hiatus, the Star Wars saga is back with Episode VII: The Force Awakens. Fans of the original trilogy will be happy to know that the new film hews closely to the tropes and themes established by George Lucas decades ago.
The story centers on a young man named Finn (John Boyega), who was raised as a Stormtrooper for the evil First Order but defects to join the Resistance under Jedi hero Rey (Daisy Ridley). They are joined by Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew), who are part of an old-time gang of smugglers that includes space cowboy pilot Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac). Their adventures take them across space, where they find out about Luke Skywalker’s whereabouts.

Latest on Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Parts I & II

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Parts I and II is a play written by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne, and John Tiffany. It is the eighth story in the Harry Potter series and picks up 19 years after the events of the seventh book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. The play tells an alternate history story where Lord Voldemort’s attempt to kill Harry failed back in 1981; however, it left him with a lightning bolt-shaped scar on his forehead. He was named co-headmaster alongside Albus Dumbledore at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry but then things went awry.
His son, Albus Severus Potter, arrives at school to be sorted into Slytherin house alongside Draco Malfoy’s son Scorpius Hyperion Malfoy. Whereas Harry as Headmaster had been trying to stamp out prejudice against Muggleborns (wizards born from non-magical parents), Draco takes a more hardline stance against them and tensions between the two continue to escalate until they reach an all time high on Halloween night when they duel each other under the influence of Tom Riddle’s diary.
They wake up nineteen years later in their own bodies once again–albeit grownups this time–with no recollection of what has happened since that Halloween night. And so begins this new saga set within a different timeline: A time without Voldemort, without Cedric Diggory, without Quidditch Cup wins for Gryffindor…but with three very different wizards who are not quite as untalented as their parents were!
